Torey Kauffman

My name is Torey Kauffman, CHPLN, End-of-Life Doula, and I believe that the end of life is not simply a medical event, but one of the most sacred and human experiences we can share. I have dedicated my career to walking alongside individuals and families during this tender season, offering not only skilled nursing care but also presence, compassion, and guidance.
I am a Certified Hospice and Palliative Licensed Nurse (CHPLN), as well as a Certified End-of-Life Doula. These credentials reflect both my clinical expertise and my deep commitment to holistic, heart-centered care. My work is rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity, comfort, and to be fully seen and supported as they approach life’s final chapter.
Currently, I serve as the Executive Director of Mercy House of Chambersburg, a nonprofit 10-bed end-of-life home for those with 30 days or less to live. In this role, I not only oversee round-the-clock care but also strive to create an environment filled with warmth, compassion, and respect for our guests and their families. My passion for this work is also deeply personal: I grew up watching my grandmother care for others in her personal care homes, and that legacy continues to guide my path today.
Whether I am sitting quietly at a bedside, helping families navigate difficult conversations, or honoring a loved one’s unique story, my goal is always the same: to bring peace, presence, and meaning to the end-of-life journey.
It is my greatest privilege to serve in this way with clinical knowledge, a steady hand, and a tender heart. I provide end-of-life doula support to individuals and families in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding areas, in both home and care facility settings.
