My name is Holly Postava. Born and raised in the Barksdale township of Ashland WI, I have lived in the area most of my life and currently live with my husband in Iron River WI.

I graduated from Washburn High School in 1991. In 2003, I attended WITC-Ashland and obtained my certificate as a Nursing Assistant; in 2005-Medical Assisting; 2007- Massage Therapy; and in 2016 obtained my Associate Degree in Business Management.

I spent my early adulthood working various jobs in the area as I raised my children. I spent over 10 years working in the medical field until 2016, when I opened Northwood Serenity in Ashland WI, to practice as a full-time Licensed Massage Therapist.

In 2018 my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. From that point, until his death in 2021, I used my medical knowledge to help my parents navigate the medical aspects of his care and prepare for his death. It was during this time that I realized how much we do not talk about or prepare for death.

In 2024 I completed a year of intense online study with Suzanne O’Brien, RN of the Doulagivers Institute, and have completed all certifications in death doula, elder care, and care consulting.

As a Doulagiver Specialist, it is my goal to help as many people as possible, plan for aging and health crisis, well before there is a crisis. I believe when we are in crisis, we do not make well informed, loving decisions. And I believe we are all deserving of love, compassion and informed choices to live and die with dignity.
